Fire & Life Safety System Design

Active & passive fire protection systems designed to maximize occupant safety in the event of a worst-case scenario

Let’s Solve Your Problem
Shadow

A CRITICAL PIECE OF THE STRUCTURE DESIGN & BUILD PROCESS

Ensuring Safety.

Properly designed and deployed fire protection and life safety systems are absolutely essential in the built environment. Lives are quite literally at stake – to say nothing of overall project success. Our team of licensed professional fire protection engineers delivers fire suppression, fire alarm and life safety designs that are coordinated and integrated with each other to provide maximum effectiveness.

Fire Sprinkler System Service

Fire Sprinkler Design Services.

Our FPEs go well beyond the basics of sprinkler system design. Using a REVIT integrated design process, we are equipped to work on the cloud BIM 360 platform along side architects and other engineering consultants. Early in the design process we analyze available water supply by performing hydraulic calculations to spearhead the most prominent design question – is a fire pump required?  We identify hazard classes and design requirements, provide highly detailed and coordinated contract-level/permit set drawings, and hone specifications to ensure high-performing, aesthetically pleasing sprinkler systems.

Fire Alarm
Design Services.

Our team provides industry-leading fire alarm and detection system design, with eyes on maximizing system coordination and minimizing or eliminating change orders. We offer clear, well-defined and understandable scopes, precise specifications and requirements, appropriate auditability, intelligibility and candela ratings, and thorough contract-level/permit set design documents.

Special Hazard

Special Hazard Fire Protection System Design.

In certain high-asset or high-vulnerability locations, such as data centers, industrial applications, aircraft hangars, museums and archives, special hazard fire protection systems are required. If wet-pipe sprinkler systems can't be utilized, our team can help design deluge sprinkler systems, foam/foam-water systems, dry- and web-chemical systems, clean-agent systems, and more.

Life Safety Plans.

The active elements of fire protection (fire suppression, fire alarm, and smoke control systems) depend on the performance of passive elements (egress systems, compartmentalization, and fire resistance rating of construction elements) to satisfy building code objectives for life safety. It’s these passive elements of fire protection which are detailed in life safety plans. Our experienced team of life safety consultants work alongside architects to deliver REVIT based life safety plans that clearly document design intent and demonstrate code compliance.
